Politics divides opinions, and since the presidential election is just around the corner, several football players, including Patrick Mahomes, have expressed their views on the matter. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback recently opened up about his views about whom people should vote for.
Mahomes revealed that he prefers to use his platform to promote the rights of voters and not to influence American citizens to vote for a particular individual.
I don't want my place and my platform to be used to endorse a candidate or do whatever. My place is to inform people to register to vote, inform people to do their own research and make their best decision for them and their family.
Patrick Mahomes said
Mahomes’ statement came at a time when his wife, Brittany Mahomes, publicly supported Donald Trump. The Republican Party candidate and former USA President even thanked the mother of two in an open letter.
This caused quite a stir in the consensus because both Mahomes and Brittany are close friends of 14-time Grammy-winning singer Taylor Swift, who dates Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Brett Favre, while praising Patrick Mahomes, takes a dig at Taylor Swift
The former Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and New York Jets quarterback Brett Favre is no stranger to sharing his opinions in public spaces and backed Mahomes for being clear about his stand. Favre retweeted Mahomes’ statement with his own thoughts.
Good take by [Patrick] Mahomes---I see a lot of celebs trying to influence their audience instead of letting the people think for themselves. If the best choice for them ain't clear and they're easily swayed by their fav pop artist, it's not going to be a good thing.

The last line ‘swayed by their fav pop artist’ is a clear dig at Taylor Swift, who has repeatedly supported Trump’s opposition instead of the face of MAGA. Favre, on the other hand, is a well-known Trump sympathizer. In the past, he has spoken in favor of the 78-year-old.
I think Donald was a non-political president, and I liked that about him... Black, white, Hispanic, Asian—you name it. I think if you were an American citizen, he cared about you, first and foremost. I don’t know if our current president has the same mentality.

The atmosphere is definitely becoming hot as the date of the election draws near. In the meantime, there was a shocking development. A source close to Brittany Mahomes revealed that she might withdraw her support for Trump.
