Glastonbury Festival has confirmed it has reformed the process for buying tickets – and fans are not impressed.

Getting a ticket for Glastonbury can feel very much like a lottery. The festival is so iconic in the British musical landscape that fans are more than happy to drop hundreds of pounds on a ticket, without even knowing who the acts headlining the Pyramid Stage will be.

However, Glasto veterans and hopefuls alike will have to get used to the fact that securing a ticket to Worthy Farm is about to drastically change.

How do I get tickets for Glastonbury 2025?

Standard admission for Glastonbury 2025 will go on sale from 9am on 17 November while coach and ticket packages will be available three days earlier, from 6pm on 14 November.

Like previous years, aspiring festivalgoers will have to register in advance on the website to be in with a chance of securing tickets – this closes at 5pm on 11 November.

The biggest change to the Glastonbury ticketing system is what happens when you log on, with the previous method of frantically refreshing the holding page being replaced by everyone forming a nice and orderly virtual queue. Then everyone on the Glastonbury See Tickets page will be randomly assigned a place once the clock ticks over to 6pm or 9am respectively.

Spending an undefined amount of time in a queue may be something which runs through a British person's DNA – and is a lot fairer than everyone smashing F5 on their keyboard – but it's safe to say that fans are not happy about the change.

"Disastrous. Looks like it’s officially a queue system for Glastonbury then," one person wrote on social media alongside a screenshot of the email they received. "Now it’s no better than Ticketmaster for ticket sales (I’ve NEVER got a ticket through a queue on there ever). This is not good."

"Can’t believe you have watched the s**t show of the Oasis sale and thought ye sounds like a good idea that," another person commented, tagging the official Glastonbury account, while a third added: "It's fair as possible in 2024. I still long for the days of buying a ticket from HMV."

How much will a Glastonbury 2025 ticket cost?

Tickets to next year's bash at Worthy Farm have also increased in price, with lucky punters expected to shell out £373.50 + £5 booking fee for a ticket. A deposit of £75 will need to be paid when the ticket is purchased, with the rest of the balance payable from the first week of April 2025.
