Cardi B is not holding back as she recently clapped back at a non-payment lawsuit. The rapper and her estranged husband, Offset, have been accused of underpaying for a mansion. This is the property where the music video for Cardi B’s “Like What” was filmed, which was directed by Offset. However, the rapper-singer has broken her silence with “receipts.”
According to TMZ, the owner of the property has alleged that Cardi B and Offset lied about their plans for filming plans at the mansion. The documents reportedly stated that the couple’s reps told the owner that an unnamed client wanted to film a TikTok at the mansion. The property owner allegedly didn’t know about the music video and provided the usual short-term rental fee while waiving the rental costs.
Cardi B took to X (formerly Twitter) to share screen recordings of her conversation with Offset. The chat showed the two discussing the charges. She captioned the post, “We paid those people $10,000 IN CASH to rent the property for a whole 24 hours.” The rapper then explained that they went over by one hour and paid the average fees to the realtor. She shared a screenshot of the transaction details, which showed a payment of $4,500 made earlier this year in March.
Cardi B wrote there were “cameras all over” and added that the realtors and the owners were “there the ENTIRE time.” She continued, “I got pics and videos of them on set!” The rapper then claimed that the TikTok video part was not mentioned anywhere in the contract.
Cardi B questioned, “Why would it take us 24 hours to shoot a TikTok?” However, the mother-of-three is not backing down from the lawsuit as she claimed that “people wanna find loopholes.” She concluded the tweet by writing, “IRON YOUR BEST SUIT BI*** I’ll see you in court!”
Cardi B added to the X thread and said it’s not the realtor’s fault. She shared that they have been “trying for months to settle this.” However, Cardi B added that it’s the “greedy owners wit their ugly a** house.”
