Indiana Jones And Short Round Have Reunited After 38 Years

After 38 long years, Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford has finally reunited with sidekick and Temple Of Doom co-star Ke Huy Quan at the annual Disney expo D23.

Ke Huy Quan’s performance as Short Round, a Shanghai orphan who ultimately helps Indiana Jones pilfer the treasures of a secret Indian blood cult in Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom, resulted in some unforgettable screen chemistry that helped mark the film as one of the greatest in Steven Spielberg’s long-spanning adventure series.

Now it looks like the gang is happily back together again, judging from a photo Quan shared of the pair embracing at Disney’s annual fan expo D23 recently. Heartbreakingly, Quan also captioned the pic with a memorable line from his Temple Of Doom performance — “I love you Indy”.

Could this mean that Short Round is set to make a return in Indian Jones 5? While there’s been no official confirmation that Quan has been cast in the upcoming Indiana Jones movie, Harrison Ford recently announced that he’ll be hanging up his leather fedora for good after the fifth instalment — meaning if there were ever a time for a Short Round and Dr Jones reunion, it’s now.

Quan recently made a triumphant return to acting after a hiatus of over twenty years, starring as Michelle Yeoh’s husband in the critically lauded Everything Everywhere All at Once. Speaking to GQ, Quan said that he was inspired to return to the industry after witnessing fellow Asian actors celebrated in Crazy Rich Asians.

“I saw my fellow Asian actors up on the screen, and I had serious FOMO because I wanted to be up there with them,” Quan told GQ. “My return to acting is the direct result of the progress made by them.”
